Logistics Support
TRAX International provides comprehensive national and international logistics support for clients of the Government Services Administration, Department of Defense, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Export Control
Our export specialists provide direct support to many international shipping customers in compliance with export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) and the Department of Commerce Export Administration Regulations.
We offer support to a global network of research, development, and production partners from both the government and private sectors. This service works very closely with our transportation and shipping department that processes numerous time-critical export and import shipments each year.
Packing and Crating
TRAX's in-house staff has years of experience with technical container fabrication and packing to destinations worldwide. This operation includes container design, shock and vibration analysis, hazardous material experience, as well as knowledge and compliance with international shipping regulations.
Property Control
Our trained personnel provide equipment control for the Goddard Space Flight Center and NASA headquarters; including customer-intensive activities designed to ensure life-cycle accountability for controlled equipment. In addition, we use Oracle-based databases and customized applications for our Inventory Management System and a General Ledger Accounting system. These systems support an interlocking menu of supply options which range from stores stock maintained in the TRAX-operated warehouses, and Just-In-Time (JIT) delivery of office supplies, to one-of-a-kind procurements of complex space flight hardware and components.
Transportation
TRAX provides the full spectrum of transportation-related logistics support, including planning at all stages of the project and encompassing test design, development, and deployment. This planning includes mechanical engineering designs of shock, vibration, and environmental control systems during physical worldwide movement of one-of-a-kind space flight hardware from assembly locations to launch test sites. These material movements range from containerized shipments prepared in our organic packaging shop to movement of oversized material by land or by air.
Warehouse & Supply Operations
TRAX provides warehouse and supply operations support to a variety of NASA and DoD customers through direct contract support, as well as through interagency agreements.
Our supply operations include procurement, inventory management, and accounting for stores stock warehousing, JIT direct deliveries, and direct turnover of specialized materials including space flight-qualified hardware.
Underlying these supply operations is a support infrastructure of requisition processing, inventory management, commodity control, acquisition, research and cataloging, receiving, delivery, and warehousing.
The supply operations include the ISO 9001-compliant management of institutional, space flight, and engineering parts. Warehouse operations also offers dedicated storage and specialized warehousing tailored to the requirements of the material being stored such as warehousing of electrostatic discharge sensitive items and long-term storage of inactive project-related equipment.
Equipment Disposal
TRAX's disposal program processes equipment, valued at several million dollars, at our various locations. This asset liquidation program disposes of equipment for reuse, or sends the equpment to the Stevenson-Wydler program or the EO 12999 donation program to educational institutions.
In addition to these programs, we operate a web-based retail sales program, participate in auctions, as well as dispose of equipment as scrap. At the Goddard Space Flight Center, these are functions that pay for themselves by generating an average of $225,000 in annual revenue. Our disposal process supports reimbursable customers from other government agencies, such as Homeland Security and the Department of Agriculture.
